Ask Tuesday: You Should Get a Real Dog, Virtual Dog or Watch a Movie Dog
Spending time with family over a long holiday weekend makes me think about my dogs. I think everyone should have a dog. If you can’t have a real dog you should have a fake dog on the computer or on your phone. If you don’t want to do that you should watch movies about dogs. Here are my top dog recommendations.
Real Dogs
I have two favorite types of dogs. The first kind are longhaired miniature Dachshunds. I have a black and tan longhaired miniature Dachshund named Princess. She is funny, she is fun to play with, she run really fast, and she is really cute. I like that she licks me a lot. Princess is really small so it is easy for me to have her on my lap and she still looks like a puppy but she is a dog. Also, because they are small, miniature dachshund’s live longer than most dogs.

My other favorite kind of dogs are American Cocker Spaniels. I like them because they are cute and fluffy. I have a buff colored American Cocker Spaniel named Hanna. She is a very nice dog. My Dachshund Princess loves to play with her. American Cocker Spaniels have a lot of fur/hair. We have to shave ours with clippers every few months. I like having two dogs. It is nice because they can play together and they are not sad when you leave.
Virtual Dogs
If for some reason you can’t have a dog I suggest getting a virtual pet. My favorite virtual pets are Webkinz. They are stuffed animals that you buy that come with a code that you use online to get into “Webkinz World”. Once you are inside you have a virtual world where you can do many different activities with you pet, play with other users, and add other pets you own. I like Webkinz because they are very cute and you can get them in all different kinds of animals, but I like the dogs the best.

If you have an iPhone or iPad there are a lot of different apps out there for virtual pets. I have tried many different ones and my favorite is Touch Pets. I like this one the best because it is fun and you can choose your dog between many different breeds and colors. They have black and tan dachshunds in the adoption center and I like that because those are one of my favorite kinds of dogs.

Dog Movies
If you don’t want a real dog or a virtual dog you should at least watch dog movies because they are the best ever. My favorite dog movie of all time is The Ugly Dachshund. It is a Disney movie from the 1960′s about a Great Dane who thinks that he is a Dachshund.
It is not one of those dog movies where the dogs talk. It would not be as good of a movie if the dogs talked. All the dogs in the movie must have been really smart dogs because they are doing all those things for real. Everyone should watch this movie.
