What To Wear On Christmas Day
Christmas can be a fashion disaster for most people. A lot of people just pile everything on all at once or even worse don’t try at all. I have found that when dressing for the holidays it really is best to chose a theme and stick to it. Are you going to be a winter white snow princess, jolly Santa or a Christmas vamp? Weather you are doing Christmas casual in jeans or going all the way in your best Christmas dress, here are the tips to help you pull off the looks.
Snow Princess
The key to pulling off this look and making it current is to find items that have embellishments on them. Not only is embellishment one of the hottest fashion trends right now, it is also a way to take a sweater from simple to special on Christmas day. To keep with the snow princess theme look for colors in white to ivory tones with accents in either gold or silver. White dresses can be worn with grey tights and either black or gray shoes this time of year. Vintage stores are a great place to look for dress and sweaters that have embellishments to go with your “snow princess” theme.
Jolly Santa
The “Christmas Themed Sweater” has become a pop-culture punch line and no fashionista would be caught dead wearing one. So how does one show holiday cheer in a sweater while still being stylish and fashionable? See by Chloe has created this red and white sheep sweater that conveys just the right amount of jolly with none of the traditional Christmas sweater trappings. Worn with jeans, black pants, or a skirt it would be a hit at any present opening. If being jolly for you mean putting on a dress on Christmas day look something simple in one color but complex in detail with additions of jewels and lace.
Christmas Vamp
For some, Christmas is the time to become a holiday vixen and add some sparkle and shimmer to dressing. To vamp up a Christmas sweater look for something that has an interesting shape and a shimmer to it. Wearing an oversized metallic gold or silver sweater with jeans, heels and some great jewelry creates a knock out look. When dressing up for a grown-up Christmas wearing a dress in a fabric such as satin or velvet with a fitted shape in a holiday color such as red makes for a festive silhouette.

Great article. There’s a lot of good data here, though I did want to let you know something – I am running Mac OS X with the circulating beta of Firefox, and the layout of your blog is kind of funky for me. I can understand the articles, but the navigation doesn’t work so well.
