The theme of the 75th AIA Minnesota Convention is Converge | Emerge.  This year’s convention sets the framework for architectural professionals to converge around the issues that matter to us most and find ways to communicate them to others.  The hope is that as architects we can reach beyond our own practice and profession and have a widespread impact.

The Convention, happening at the Minneapolis Convention Center from Nov. 10-13,  is open to the public with programs and a free Exhibit Hall.  Local volunteer organizations will be seeking new members as part of the Citizen Architect initiative at the Exhibit Hall at the AIA Minnesota Convention. The Citizen Architect effort by AIA Minnesota will be launched at the Exhibit Hall with displays and representatives (opening night only) from 16 different organizations including Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities; Bolder Options, Bridging, Clare Housing, Habitat for Humanity, and many others.

These organizations’ missions range from those that are in direct need of an architect’s skill set, to  those that simply need more helping hands.  To find out more about the convention and how you can attend visit the AIA Minnesota website.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.

I’m usually not the guy to submit comments on people’s write ups, but for this post I simply needed to do it. I have been digging around your site a lot recently and I’m really impressed, I think you could potentially become a main voices for your market. Not sure what your free time is like in life, but if you began commiting more effort to posting here, I would guess you would begin receiving a lot of visitors eventually. With affiliate stuff, it could become a sweet reserve income source. Just an idea to think about. Good luck!
