Gap Kids Goes Designer Over Stella McCartney

With style that more than rips off the Michael Jackson look, a collection by designer Stella McCartney will soon be coming to Gap Kids.  She has been known to design clothing for her own children as well as for the little ones of BFFs Madonna and Gwyneth.  The collection will drop into stores this holiday season priced between $38-$128 and come in sizes from 0-6 months to size 12.  Don’t think that will stop adults from trying to squeeze into the clothing.  McCartney herself has already said she is taking one of everything home that comes in a size 12.

The marriage of high style fashion designer Stella McCartney and main street store Gap Kids bring up a clear fact.  The children’s market is booming.  There is an article in today’s UK Guardian that talks about just this topic.  They spoke to Lorraine Candy, the editor of Elle, and mother of three, who had this to say:

‘ “I shop for my children relentlessly,” She buys at least two things a week for them, and that’s twice as many items as most of her colleagues buy for themselves. “My eldest is seven, my youngest is three. Five years ago I didn’t have anywhere near the choice I have now. And every time you go [to the shops] there are new things to look at. It’s the novelty, the cuteness factor of everything. You think, ‘Look at that! It’s Stella McCartney, but it’s small. There’s something toy-like about it all.” ‘

I know that my children, particularly my daughter, can be very picky about the clothes they wear.  We shop at places that have a designer “look” such as H&M and Gap Kids.  I would imagine that my kids will love the Stella McCartney line at Gap Kids if they see it, as it is fun and has such attention to detail.  I will of course keep you all posted if I purchase anything from the collection.

Hey I just wanted to let you know, I actually like the written material on your site. But I am employing Flock on a machine running version 9.04 of Crashbang Ubuntu and the look and feel aren’t quite satisfactory. Not a strong deal, I can still basically read the articles and explore for information, but just wanted to inform you about that. The navigation bar is kind of challenging to use with the config I’m running. Keep up the good work!
